Understanding the spectrum - an explanation in comic

On March 30, 2022, in recognition of Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month (which is in April) the Art of Autism published a comic strip from comic artist and illustrator Rebecca Burgess ("Art is Quite useless" (tumblr.com)).

As a friend of mine noted, not only is it a great learning tool for adults not on the spectrum, but an accessible lesson for kids as well. Watching my own 9 year-old spectrum kid read the comic and comment on it sealed the deal. When asked if we should include it, he said "yes, it is a good comic to look at and what the autism spectrum really should mean."

The Art of Autism strives to empower and connect individuals within the autism community through participation in the Arts and to foster independence, self-esteem and artistic expression by participation in The Art of Autism Project.
